Programme Description
The one-year scholarships are intended for graduates from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine who plan to complete postgraduate studies (i.e. Master's programmes), PhDs or one-year research stays at a Bavarian higher-education institution. The one-year scholarship can be generally extended twice for up to 3 years. An average of 40 scholarships worth 992 EUR per month are awarded each year. Single parents or scholars with at least one child may be awarded a monthly amount of 1,152 EUR. The programme aims to support scientific cooperation and academic exchange between the state of Bavaria and Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
Target Group
graduates (with appropriate citizenship) from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine who plan to complete doctoral or postgraduate studies at a Bavarian higher-education institution. One-year research stays are also sponsored.

Scholarship Value
The grant is paid in 12 instalments and has a value of 11,904 EUR per year (992 EUR per month). Students with at least one child may receive 13,824 EUR (1,152 EUR per month).
